See also the Skills section for more information on individual skills.

1 - Skill Status
Displays one of your character's skills. Shown are the skill icon, the number of skill points invested in a skill and the name of the skill.
Move your mouse cursor over a skill status to bring up the Skill Effect Details ( see below )
Left click to invest one skill point in the highlighted skill.
Right click to spend one refund point and recover one skill point from the highlighted skill.
Investing skill points in a skill improves its effectiveness. You earn one skill point every time your party gains a level. The maximum number of skill points allowed for any skill is 30, or 1/4 of the current party level. Skills that cannot receive skill points are greyed out.
Skill points can be recovered using refund points. 0.5 refund points are earned every time you win a battle.
For most skills, the reward for additional skill points diminishes. It may be more effective to raise a large number of skills to a moderate level (12) than only a few to a high level (22+)

2 - Character Overview
Displays the party level, character class, current number of available skill points and current number of refund points.

3 - Skill Effect Details
Gives details on the effects of the currently highlighted skill.

The example here is 'Hack', whose primary damage type is piercing.

The first number given, '273' is the amount of piercing damage done by the skill alone.
The second number, '14' refers to the amount of piercing damage added by items.
The third number, '64' refers to the amount of non-piercing damage added by items.
The fourth and final number, '35' refers to the amount of piercing damage added by the Knight's passive skill, Might.
