III. HARDWARE ISSUES

	DISPLAY ISSUES

Urban Freestyle Soccer requires a 32 MB DirectX 9.0 compatible video card in order to play.
Some cards have experienced some graphical issues, usually due to using older drivers.
Please check your video card manufacturer's website and make sure you have the most
	recent display drivers.

	DISPLAY DRIVER SETUP
Urban Freestyle Soccer will automatically try to detect the best 3D settings for your hardware.
If you have more than one D3D compliant video card in your system, the game will only run on
	the primary display adaptor

	DISPLAY DRIVER SUPPORT
Urban Freestyle Soccer requires a 3D capable card. Important! Check Your Video Card Drivers.
If you are having trouble running Urban Freestyle Soccer please make sure you have the most recent
drivers available for your video card(s).

Consult your video hardware documentation for information about where to find the latest
drivers -- usually they can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. Occasionally, video card
manufacturers do not have a driver that works correctly under DirectX 9.0.

	SOUND CARD SUPPORT
Urban Freestyle Soccer requires a sound card that is fully compatible with DirectX 9.0.
As with video adapters, updated sound card drivers are regularly published by hardware manufacturers
and are available off of their web site. If you experience any sound corruption or other sound
related problems during game play, update your sound drivers. This will often solve sound related
	problems.

	SOUND ISSUES
	- When using an external sound card please ensure that this is turned on prior to running the game.

	CONTROLLERS SUPPORTED/CONTROL ISSUES
-Urban Freestyle Soccer requires an 7-button (or more) controller or a keyboard

-Some controllers may have the start function defaulted to another button on the controller instead
of Start. Typically, these controllers have 10 buttons, where the 10th button is the start button.
In order to change this, enter the Controller Assign screen then select the Controller Configuration
menu. From here, an action can be mapped to a different button.

-Please note that keyboard controls can not be remapped as it is recommended that a Controller is used
to get the most enjoyment out of Urban Freestyle Soccer.

-When daisy-chaining Microsoft Sidewinders together through a Sound Blaster Live! port, occasionally a
phantom action will occur as if the user pressed the button.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE 3D TECHNOLOGY APPLIED IN Urban Freestyle Soccer

	WHAT IS DIRECTX?
DirectX is an API (Application Program Interface) that allows games designed for Windows 98/2000/Me/XP
to have access to your hardware through a standard interface. Without a standard interface, stable
compatibility between games and your computer's hardware would be virtually impossible. With DirectX,
game developers can write for this interface, and let your Windows 98/2000/Me/XP DirectX compatible
drivers "talk" to your computer's hardware. Urban Freestyle Soccer requires DirectX 9.0 or greater.
Refer to the following Microsoft link for more general information on DirectX.

	http://www.microsoft.com/DirectX/default.asp

	WHAT IS DIRECT3D?
Direct3D is a universal API from Microsoft providing a standard interface for programmers to access
your 3D hardware without having to write for specific devices. Most 3D cards support Direct3D.
The latest driver package for your card should contain Direct3D drivers for your video card.
NOTE: You can install DirectX 9.0 from the Urban Freestyle Soccer Disc. Go to the DirectX9 folder on
the CD and double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to run the DirectX setup utility.

IV. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

	1. When I try to play Urban Freestyle Soccer, the game will quit and return to the desktop. What should
	I do?

If you are having trouble running Urban Freestyle Soccer, make sure you have the most recent drivers
available for your video card(s). Consult your video hardware documentation for information about where
to find the latest drivers -- usually they can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

	2. I cannot perform skill moves with my controller, which has six buttons. Why not?
Urban Freestyle Soccer requires an seven-button controller in order to play the game correctly.
It will work with less than seven, but the user will not be able to perform all the moves that are
	included.

	3. How can I get Urban Freestyle Soccer to run smoother on my machine?

Enter the Game Options and Game Effects screens in the Options menu. Here you will find a number of
options that can be altered. Lowering or turning off some or all of these options based upon your
PC specification will enhance game play and speed up the action on slower machines.
For example lower the anti-aliasing to 0X and lower the character Detail and Texture Detail to Low.

	4. I get an error message that states, "D3D9 application. Could not find any compatible Direct3D devices.
Sample will now close." What does this mean?

This means that your DirectX version is old and incompatible with Urban Freestyle Soccer.
Update to DirectX 9.0. You can install DirectX 9.0 from the Urban Freestyle Soccer Disc.
Go to the DirectX9 folder on the CD and double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to run the DirectX setup utility.

	5. Do I need to keep the Urban Freestyle Soccer disc in the CD drive in order to play?

Yes. Urban Freestyle Soccer requires that the disc be in the CD drive during the game.
Taking the disc out during a game will cause the program to cease operating.

	V. SAVE GAMES

-Urban Freestyle Soccer saves the game in a separate folder, apart from the rest of the installed data.

In Windows 2000 and XP, the folder can be found by following this path in My Computer:
	C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Urban Freestyle Soccer. Application data
is sometimes listed as a hidden file. In order to view this folder, select Folder Options under the
Tools menu, select the View tab and make sure that "Show Hidden files and Folders" is selected.

In Windows 98/Me, this can be found in the directory that Urban Freestyle Soccer was installed into.

-Do not exit the program while the game is saving. Doing this could cause the loss of the previous
	save data.
