MORIYA MUGEN PORT Basic Version

Made by Orochi Herman (iori@philippines.crosswinds.net)
Made at The Riot of the Blood Rehabilitation Center (http://rotb.cjb.net)

Hello people! This is my 6th MUGEN attempt on making a character. From
the legendary maker of Setsuna, Sakura and Whip now comes another
sure-fire fighter who can kick butt!

And furthermore, he can prove projectile people are shithouse! >:P

---------------------------------------------------Update at January 21...

- Moriya has high and low jumps now. More attacks has been added.
- Oboro Attacks are now in. No charging yet though. This has been also
incorporated into his teleport, like in the original game.

-----------------------------------------------What needs to be implemented.

1. All specials.
2. Falling ani fix.
3. Stuff...

------------------------------------------------------------------Storyline:

Moriya is a lone swordsman of the Bakumatsu Era. Kouryu Gaisei adopted
him and proved to be a very strong and skilled fighter. Along under his
wing were Kaede, and Yuki.

One day, Moriya discovered his master bloodied. Kouryu explained that
someone defeated him, but adviced him not to avenge him, as it is part of
life. Moriya was deeply saddened, as he was still an adolescent.

Unfortunately, Kaede thought Moriya killed their master, outcasting
Moriya.

Years later, Yuki found out who really killed Kouryu, their master. It
was one of them as students; Shinnosuke Kagami.

Yuki tried to say the truth to Moriya, now hardened with indifference,
hatred and loneliness, but now, he would not even listen to Yuki!
Kaede confronted him to verify Yuki's words, only to get beaten up.

Then he battles Kagami, where he found out the truth, that Kagami was
the murderer of their master. Because of his own inexperience, Moriya
is defeated easily.

Cursing himself for not knowing things well, he sets off to a journey
to train hard. Then he is summoned back by a mysterious spirit, a spirit
of most likely evil.

Moriya seeks to settle his unsteady past to find out who he really is.

Kaede is his brother. And Yuki has a growing extraordinary feeling for
him.

---------------------------------------------------------------Instructions:

Set the destination unzip directory at the "chars" directory of MUGEN.
Then, specify another subdiectory called "Moriya." Overwrite any
existing files if you are upgrading.

----------------------------------------------------------Gameplay Overview.

Moriya is rather weak, call his true inexperience. But that does not
chop his damage ability, which is supreme. In MUGEN, he can still combo
old-school style. New attacks has also been added to augument his
6-button setting.

----------------------------------------------------------------------Moves

Be wary that MUGEN uses a Sega Saturn-type of controls; X,Y,Z, A,B,C,
and that some buttons are not available for all characters. In the case
of Kagami, ALL are available.

If your button orientation is at A-Z, please change it to X-C. Well,
don't blame me, it's the configuration I got when I first downloaded
MUGEN.

My characters cannot have less or more than 6 buttons. I know, it's my
taste of perfection. >:P

Ittou Oboro (Glancing Blade Haze)

QCB + X/Y/Z

Moriya will wave his sword to form a very fast slash, which is quick to
come out. Holding the button delays the attack, good for charging. When
the button is held down for a long time, the attack executes by itself.
(To be implemented soon is its stronger version <for all types>). X is
for High ranges, good for air defense, Y is medium, suitable for combos.
Z is a low attack, that must be blocked low.

Teleport:

QCF + A B or C.

Moriya sheathes his sword, and moves in a blur. He reappears according
to the button used. In LB, the command is B,DB,D A/B/C. Utilizing his
6-button layout in MUGEN, this is now performed with the kick button.
Button A moves him forward, B brings him to the back edge of the screen,
(Functions are inverted in his original incarnation) and C moves him
far forward. Holding any kick button while in the teleport makes him
ready for an Ittou Oboro attack, determined by the button held to.
A brings out a high version, B & C does medium and low, respectively.

Advice: The latest MUGEN has fixed screen pannings. If you are using
VK's backgrounds or one of mines, try setting back the tension to 50.
the high setting of the tension (like in 150) was set to suplement
Krizalid's desperate overdrive attack (and Rugal's god press/gigatech
press) Also advisable for R's Dan.

----------------------------------------------------------------Some bugs:

Missing frames. I will fix this as soon as I can get to it.

Moriya still has some animation flaws in his falling up ani. Can someone
rip it up for me? ^_^ I can not do it, and I've tried, to no avail...;_;
