STORY
=====

The one named Gouki, also known as Akuma, feared throughout the world as the
one with "murderous intent", seeking strong fighters to quench his unsatiable
thirst for destruction.

Murdering his own brother Gouken and their master Goutetsu, Gouki realised the
killing potential of Shotokan Karate and ventured forth to search for strong
fighters to defeat, starting with his own teacher and brother.

His brother Gouken's students, USA's martial arts champion Ken Masters and his
childhood friend, the mysterious man named Ryu, sought revenge against the
devilish Gouki, seeking him out on his own private island and challenging him.

Unbeknownst to Ryu, Gouki's murderous intent differs little from Ryu's own
desire to seek new challengers, perhaps thus sealing his fate.

Elsewhere, having left early in a state of absolute confidence, Gouken's other
deciple, Dan Hibiki, travelled the world to find the renowned Muay Thai
ex-street fighting champion Sagat in order to exact revenge upon him for
killing his father, whom was responsible for removing Sagat's eye.

But that's another story.

NOTES
=====

This is the first and probably final release of my Gouki for M.U.G.E.N.

Do not copy it and/or use it for your own compilations without realising the
effort that I put into this creation. I am aware that a lot of you will copy
the cns functions and stuff, please don't forget to mention that you used my
Gouki for an example.

There is an Akuma made by my friends Strider and Shadowatch. This is in no way
meant to rival their creation, as they put a huge amount of work into theirs.

This was in NO WAY copied from the other Akuma, or any other Shotokan-like
characters. I wrote this up based on KFM's files, as I do with my other ones.
I also completely ripped him myself in the span of three days, not including
the sprites I had from when PSEMU first gained the ability to run PSX SFA1.

Yes, I am aware of Gouki's uncanny ability of mass juggling and infinites
all over the place. Because of his immense ability to, frankly put, kick ass,
and my laziness in properly tuning the juggling system, Gouki has a lower
defense percentage than everyone else.

If you have trouble comboing special moves, read "Known Bug Info".

Also, you may notice CPU Gouki plays quite efficiently. I think this is because
of his simple commands.

Some sprites were edited by me. You will realise this when you see something
that you haven't seen before.

For those that didn't know, holding start while selecting will enable more
colours. In Gouki's case, he will become "Shin Gouki" (no difference other than
colour change.)

============
INSTALLATION
============

* Make sure you have the latest version of M.U.G.E.N.
  If not, check out www.elecbyte.com

* Please obtain his background and music as well, titled goukibg.zip
  Read the installation instructions for the bg in goukibg.txt

After installing M.U.G.E.N, create a directory under the CHARS directory.
The directory must be called GOUKI
Unzip the files in this archive there.

Edit SELECT.CFG under the DATA directory as instructed within the file,
adding Gouki with the line:

gouki, stages/_____.def

..where _____ is which background file you choose.
For example, to install Gouki's background, you would type:

gouki, stages/goukibg.def

==============
KNOWN BUG INFO
==============

Buffering from combos into special moves are a bit difficult because of
the way M.U.G.E.N. handles controls, so.. I have found the best way to
combo is to wait until the hit sound is over then complete the motion of
the special move you want to buffer by pushing the button.

Some of you might notice there's a slight problem with the sprites.
I won't mention what it is, but let's just say I can't be bothered re-ripping.

Since projectiles can't hit two people at once, the Messatsu Gou Shinkuu Ha
is not very effective in team play.

Projcontact does not seem to work properly, therefore Super Cancels do not work
with projectile attacks, such as cancelling a fireball into a fireball super.
However, for example, a dragon punch into a super dragon punch works fine.

Because afterimages cannot be cancelled out all at once, you will notice they
may tend to disappear one by one unlike their originals.

The Hyakki Shuu grabs are rather buggy because it is difficult to implement
them properly in MUGEN. But it's better than not having them at all.

You will notice I have changed the motion for the Hyakki Shuu because the
original motions are difficult to do on the keyboard.

Yes, I know the chinese signs can show up backwards. MUGEN has no way of fixing
this yet.

I tried to implement the getting hit by alpha/zero counter spinning effect
but the makeexplod seemed to overlap all frames of the spinning animation for
no reason. And yes, I did check for a -1 and there wasn't.

Grabbing people from behind with some throws causes them to go flying in the
wrong direction. This has something to do with p2facing.

Sometimes people bounce in the wrong direction after falling from a throw.
This may have something to do with the previous bug, and I might have fixed it
by creating a custom bounce state.
