A cold steel weapon, the prototype
of which was a simple club - a typical infantry weapon of the
past. But in the 14th century, it gained greater acknowledgement
in the cavalry. The reason was that it could cast a deadly blow
to a well armoured opponent, though it gained a rather
symbolic meaning with time.
